Well, Dear Readers, we are at the end of our reprieve here in Glenwood. This town is simply amazing and beautiful. A place we definitely plan on coming back to! There's so much history to this place it is impossible to get it in in one day.
We took it pretty easy this morning and we ordered room service for breakfast. By the afternoon we were ready to head out to make a very special visit. But first we ate lunch at the hotel restaurant and had the most amazing veggie burger on the planet!!! Not the soy patty kind but an honest-to-goodness homemade veggie patty. We did get the recipe...yummy!
After we had lunch we made our way to Linwood Cemetery where the Doc Holiday Memorial is. It was not easy to get to! We had to hike 1/2 mile up a trail that was pretty steep...we were a huffin' and a puffin' (me more so than Jeff). It was worth it. Not only is Doc there, but Harvey Logan (AKA, Kid Curry) who ran with Butch Cassidy's Hole in the Wall Gang.

After getting back down, we made our way to the old site of the Glenwood Hotel where Doc actually stayed and died. Unfortunately the original building burned down and a hair salon is in the part of the original building that survived. Next to that is Doc Holliday's Saloon which actually was a mercantile that Doc most likely frequented because it was right next to where he stayed. The saloon was great! And we sat at the bar and Jeff had some suds while I nursed a Sprite.

We got back to Hotel Colorado and we had scheduled ourselves massages, Reiki, and reflexology treatments. Relaxed and rejuvenated, we had dinner and went back to Doc's Saloon...I wanted to get a picture of the sign lit up.
